What was announced today?

Today we announced that Workforce Logiq, the workforce management company transforming how organizations win talent across the globe, has acquired predictive analytics and AI software company ENGAGE Talent. The acquisition empowers Workforce Logiq customers with proprietary benchmarks and real-time intelligence to find, engage, hire, and retain the top candidates in the market faster and more affordably than ever before.

With ENGAGE, as well as our recent partnership with Upwork, Workforce Logiq is now the partner of choice, with a universal sourcing solution designed to address all or individual elements of clients’ workforce acquisition and retention programs, including full-time, contingent, and freelance/“gig” workers.

ENGAGE Talent’s founder and CEO, Joe Hanna, has been named Workforce Logiq’s Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Director, ENGAGE Talent. He will report directly to Jim Burke and will become a member of the company’s executive leadership team.

Tim Yates, who currently serves on the ENGAGE board, will be joining the Workforce Logiq board. Tim was most recently the CEO of Monster Worldwide.

Who is ENGAGE Talent?

ENGAGE Talent is the first Total Talent IntelligenceSM platform for forward-thinking companies who recognize the impact of people on business performance. ENGAGE combines an enterprise’s internal talent data, external competitor and market data, with predictive AI models for the most holistic and validated talent intelligence worldwide. Market leading companies including Dell, Allstate, and Saint Gobain depend on ENGAGE to improve talent acquisition, candidate engagement, competitive intelligence, and labor market analytics.

ENGAGE analyzes more than a billion data points every month from forty-thousand sources to give HR and procurement leaders useful, validated, and actionable intelligence to:

  • Accurately identify and shortlist candidates who are most likely and willing to engage with recruiters, apply for and accept jobs.
  • Recommend and prioritize the most effective channels to source for known roles and create future talent pipelines.
  • Create unique and customized candidate-specific messaging to improve recruitment and retention engagement rates.
  • Benchmark real-time talent supply and demand analytics, compensation analyses, and industry and competitive profiles, trends, and intelligence.

The science is based on three decades of validated academic and industry research of the events that lead to voluntary turnover. It relies on long term studies of career progression and the market forces impacting engagement, attrition, and talent movement.

ENGAGE was awarded the Most Interesting AI company in HR Technology from HR Examiner, 2019. The company was founded in 2015 and is based in Charleston, SC. For additional information on the company, visit www.engagetalent.com, follow them on Twitter @Engage_Talent or connect with them on LinkedIn.

Why did ENGAGE Talent agree to be acquired by Workforce Logiq?

ENGAGE joined with Workforce Logiq for three key reasons: (1) our views of the market were very much in synch, including the growing criticality of data and AI-powered recruiting platforms, (2) we had a shared sense of mission – and opportunity – to disrupt a market ripe for change, and (3) perhaps most importantly, like ENGAGE, Workforce Logiq values innovation and is actively investing in its own technology. There are not a lot of other workforce management companies who are thinking differently about how they are preparing their clients for the future.

Problem solving with data and data science is in our DNA. That coupled with creativity are probably our most important core values.  With Workforce Logiq, we can continue to problem solve in new markets (contingent) and in new global geographies (50+ countries!) – faster – given their client scale and scope. Plus, as part of Workforce Logiq, we’ll be able to provide an expanded set of workforce management solutions and expert advisory services to clients, and invest more in our team members and their career growth.

Once we got excited about the types of challenges that we’ll be able to help solve for, the benefits to our clients and team members, and the freedom to keep innovating and disrupting, the rest fell into place very quickly.

Why did Workforce Logiq acquire ENGAGE Talent? How does it fit into the company’s strategic priorities?

In our ongoing conversations with clients, prospective partners, industry analysts, and other expert advisors, there’s a clear and consistent need among employers regarding workforce management: to be less reactive. To be able to see the horizon and what’s beyond it. To have the ability to anticipate—accurately.

Addressing these issues required something that the workforce management industry has lacked until now: predictive data and analytics that illuminate important insights for better recruiting and retention decision making in the current and future talent landscape.

Therefore, our investment priorities have been focused on integrating advanced data, analytics, and AI-powered insight into our solution set.

Workforce Logiq vetted multiple solutions with potential partners. With ENGAGE, we immediately recognized a “different” approach – and the potential of working together:

  • First, ENGAGE has built predictive AI-powered algorithms that intake, score, and define proprietary metrics to help clients make proactive decisions about who and what types of talent they should be targeting, and when, how and even why to target them.
  • Second, and perhaps most uniquely, ENGAGE makes its business intelligence useful for HR, Procurement and hiring managers alike. ENGAGE is disruptive because they—now we—deliver insights in a way that is easy to understand and, more engaging.
  • And third, ENGAGE is based on proven science, validated research, and continuous analysis of over 1 billion data points per month. Organizations including Dell, Allstate, and Saint Gobain are already using ENGAGE to achieve quantifiable results.

With this acquisition, our expert advisors at Workforce Logiq can leverage ENGAGE Talent’s proprietary AI technology for real-time data on talent retention, employee engagement, labor conditions and competitive workforce dynamics. For example, ENGAGE’s patent-pending Talent Retention Risk ScoreSM predicts how likely an organization, or its competition, is to experience employee churn across specific roles, functions, and locations, enabling organizations to proactively address retention, recruitment, and talent supply and demand gaps.

The acquisition is a game-changing investment for Workforce Logiq and our clients, and furthers our vision of transforming how organizations win the talent they need to grow.

Why is this acquisition good for Workforce Logiq clients?

In our ongoing conversations with clients and other key stakeholders, there’s a clear and consistent need among employers regarding workforce management: to be less reactive. To be able to see the horizon and what’s beyond it. To have the ability to anticipate—accurately.

Addressing these client challenges required something that the workforce management industry has lacked until now: predictive data and analytics that illuminate important insights for better recruiting and retention decision making in the current and future talent landscape.

Therefore, our priorities on behalf of clients have been focused on sustainable differentiation for growth in our core MSP/VMS solution, investment in our self-sourcing platform, and expansion of our RPO capabilities, all supported by a foundation of proprietary business intelligence and expert advisory services.

Workforce Logiq vetted multiple solutions with potential partners. With ENGAGE we immediately recognized the potential of working together to deliver a solution that our clients just can’t get anywhere else:

  • First, ENGAGE has built predictive AI-powered algorithms that intake, score, and define proprietary metrics to help clients make proactive decisions about who and what types of talent they should be targeting, and when, how and even why to target them.
  • Second, and perhaps most uniquely, ENGAGE makes its business intelligence useful for HR, Procurement, and hiring managers alike. ENGAGE is disruptive because they—now we—deliver expert insights in a way that is easy to understand, and more engaging.
  • And third, ENGAGE is based on proven science, validated research, and continuous analysis of over 3 billion data points per month. Organizations including Dell, Allstate, and Saint Gobain are already using ENGAGE to achieve quantifiable results.

With this acquisition, our expert advisors at Workforce Logiq can leverage ENGAGE Talent’s proprietary AI technology for real-time data on talent retention, employee engagement, labor conditions, and competitive workforce dynamics.  For example, ENGAGE ‘s patent-pending Talent Retention Risk ScoreSM predicts how likely an organization, or its competition, is to experience employee churn across specific roles, functions, and locations, enabling organizations to proactively address retention, recruitment, and skill supply and demand gaps.

According to customer feedback and empirical research, including recent data published in a recent Harvard Business Review article, using ENGAGE Talent can help us help clients to:

  • Accurately identify and shortlist candidates most willing and likely to engage with recruiters, apply for and accept jobs.
  • Recommend and prioritize most effective channels for sourcing for known roles and future talent pipelines, including AI-powered candidate-specific predictive messaging.
  • Benchmark talent supply and demand analytics, real-time compensation analyses, industry and competitive trends and intelligence.

Our combination with ENGAGE, plus our recent partnership with Upwork, offer another tremendous benefit to our clients:

Workforce Logiq is now the partner of choice, with a universal sourcing solution designed to address all or individual elements of your workforce acquisition and retention program, including full-time, contingent, and freelance/“gig” workers.

  • The combination of ENGAGE Talent with Workforce Logiq shows that our mission to reimagine and transform how clients win the talent they need to grow is more than words; it drives actions that benefit customers by giving them a predictive head start to think about where they need to be building their recruiting strategies today, and in the future.

Will Workforce Logiq and ENGAGE Talent now offer each other’s solutions? If so, when?

Yes. The Workforce Logiq and ENGAGE Talent teams have been partnering to identify how to quickly present each other’s solutions to our current and prospective clients. In fact, we have already provided demos of the ENGAGE Talent platform to a number of Workforce Logiq’s clients, with much positive feedback. Our Sales, Client Services, and Customer Success leadership will be rolling out our launch plans shortly, but we expect to be offering the majority of our respective solutions immediately, and the full suite no later than January 2020.

When will Workforce Logiq clients and prospective clients get a demo of ENGAGE Talent’s solution?

We will be sending an email inviting all Workforce Logiq clients to an “ENGAGE Talent Demo Webinar” hosted by CEO, Jim Burke and ENGAGE Talent’s founder, Joe Hanna. The client webinar will be recorded and made available by our Client Service team.

We are also organizing similar demo webinars for clients and prospects.

Will there be any change to our contracts and how we currently do business with Workforce Logiq?

The recently announced acquisition should have no impact to any existing contract. All new solution additions to our existing customer contracts requiring an amendment or addendum will follow current processes. There will be no change to how business is currently being conducted and you should continue to use your same contacts at Workforce Logiq for conducting business.

Will ENGAGE Talent be integrated into Workforce Logiq? Will it change its name to Workforce Logiq?

At launch, ENGAGE Talent will be designated as “A Workforce Logiq Company.” Our goal is to make ENGAGE Talent’s team members, and current and future innovative solutions, an integral part of Workforce Logiq and our solutions portfolio.  However, we want to minimize any disruption to clients and our team members. That means business as usual while we finalize our longer-term integration plans, including our company branding.

If we are a client of both companies, which account/client services team should we contact?

Please continue using your current contacts:

  • For ENGAGE Talent related services and questions, contact your Customer Success Team.

How is this acquisition expected to impact either company’s product roadmap or development priorities?

  • VMS enhancements to ensure competitive advantage and leverage an open engine to provide access to a full suite of differentiated workflows and product solutions.
  • Integrated Advanced Data, Analytics and AI-powered insight.
  • AI-powered Self-Sourcing solution alongside the Workforce Logiq VMS.
  • Acquisitions and partnerships to create differentiated and sustainable value for clients.

The combination with Workforce Logiq also enhances and strengthens ENGAGE Talent’s priorities of platform scalability, geographic reach, and offers the data and resources needed to extend its proprietary algorithms to contingent workers, as well as other new and exciting development projects driven by access to and input from hundreds of new, global clients. In fact, we are already working together on new solutions, including an ENGAGE powered self-sourcing solution, including new patent-pending AI-powered algorithms.

Will there be changes to either company’s executive leadership teams?

Workforce Logiq will continue to be led by current chief executive, Jim Burke.  ENGAGE Talent’s founder and CEO, Joe Hanna, has been named Chief Strategy Officer, Workforce Logiq and Managing Director, ENGAGE Talent. He will report directly to Jim Burke and will become a member of the company’s executive leadership team.

Tim Yates, who currently serves on the ENGAGE board will be joining the Workforce Logiq board. Tim was most recently the CEO of Monster Worldwide.

How does this acquisition fit in with Workforce Logiq’s recently announced partnership with Upwork?

With ENGAGE, as well as our recent partnership with Upwork, Workforce Logiq is now the partner of choice, with a universal sourcing solution designed to address all or individual elements of clients’ workforce acquisition and retention programs, including full-time, contingent, and freelance/“gig” workers.

Talent Retention Risk (TRR) ScoreSM

ENGAGE uses multiple AI techniques and patent-pending models to calculate industry, company, and candidate-specific Talent Retention Risk (TRR) Scores to benchmark how various factors contribute to employment volatility or stability, including how likely a candidate is to be interested in exploring other job opportunities – and be open to unsolicited recruiting messages.

Factors that are considered in the AI models include:

  • Macroeconomic trends
  • Company-level social media and news sentiment
  • Leadership changes
  • Employee churn indicators (layoff announcements, job posting trends, job tenure)
  • Other industry news and events
  • Other factors proven to be correlated with workforce volatility

Please note that ENGAGE does not use candidate-level social media, online search history, or other personal information, including protected class data in its TRR algorithms.

ENGAGE 5D ProfileSM

The ENGAGE 5D Profile is a proprietary predictor of employee-specific workplace characteristics for maximum job attraction. Dimension prioritization and ranking for candidates are based on publically available model inputs with high job volatility correlation, including professional and academic histories, prior work environments, and dynamic market changes impacting their current employer, business sector, and job category and level.

Please note that ENGAGE does not use candidate-level social media, online search history, or other personal information, including protected class data in its 5D Profile algorithm.
